Fall in Wisconsin

The fact that I'm leaving didn't really hit me all that hard until yesterday. Fall has come to Wisconsin (it did a while ago but I was to busy to notice) and it's going ot be the last one I have for many years. No one does fall like Wisconsin, many people argue that Maine and the eastern states have better, but I assume that's because they've never ventured this far into America. But I have also never gone that far east at this time of year. So we could call it a draw.
Fall is my favorite time of year, many people could tell you this about me.
So I find myself gettin' a nostalgic up in this hizzy about what I'm goin' to say goodbye to.
There are so many things that I have found.

Bulwer- Lytton Contest entry

The night air was akin to discount theater popcorn (decayed, tepid, buttery) as she ran to her beloved; no one knew how she felt (heaving, undulating, love); the despondency, the yearn for his touch, his kiss (ravaging, encompassing, undying thirst) but tonight (when she thought she might stand it no more and was going to dump his sorry ass for the werewolf) he had summoned her with his mind, commanding her to obey, and so she ran, her body pulsing in expectant rapture, toward death.

It couldn't have happened that way

Today has been one of those, "why do I feel like I'm just working against the Universe by trying to get anything acomplished?" days. It was awful. Which, as it happens, is one of my favorite words as of late. I shouldn't complain, I'm just exhausted. And when I'm exhuasted, I blog. Which is why I must sound like such a downer on the internets. One day, I'll write when I'm excited...today is not that day obviously.
Moving on...
My professor assigned a creative bit of homework today. Using a method of topic layout that he created, he has put forth the challenge of writing the worst sentence to open a novel with. It's actually part of a context put out by UC- San Jose ( where, ironically, my sister lives). It's based off of that horrific sentence that starts the novel Paul Clifford by Edward Bulwer-Lytton:
"It was a dark and stormy night;"
There's more but I can't copy and paste it, and have no interest in actually writing down the whole thing. If you want to know more just go to: http://www.bulwer-lytton.com

So yeah, now I have to figure out how to write something truly awful (see? love that word) and turn it in on Friday. Sadly I just deleted my other blog that I had from when I was 18-23, which means I'll have to come up with something original instead of just skimming it's archives.

Day two really is the second day.

So, in order for this to work I have to write everyday; used to be that I did. Then, like so many other things in my life I got bored, detached, and eventually just gave into the inevitable truth that that no one was listening in the first place. But now, since my husband and I have begun living in different states (he in graduate school, I still in undergrad) I need a place to bitch. Bitch, of coarse, isn't the correct sentiment. But after the week I've had it's the best that I can do. I assume that he's going to read this blog, he might possibly be the only one who does.
Hi Spike, btw.
I restarted blogging, not because I care if anyone will read. But because there are so many things that I want to say, when people ask how things have been. I just can't get my words out, I have awful blanks spells. I get dragged down into dark voids of "like" and "um" without a guiding synonym in sight to dispell the darkness. Maybe by writing again, and keeping thoughts closer to the surface I won't sound so bored anymore.
Or it could be that I'll just discover that I'm not bored, but instead just boring.
The days are just going to wash over me in the next months, I know it. I have that awful feeling of forgetful and medicated. What can I do though? I just have to get through this semester, graduate, and await the panic that sets in when I can't find a job. Then, after the grace period ends, I will begin the age old question of "Can I afford to eat if I plan on paying my federal aid bills at the end of the month?"
Don't worry though, dear reader, I'll make the right decision. After all, bread will always be in the grocery store but you're only allowed ten years to pay back the Federal Government.
...
Sorry for the bitterness, I just found out today how much I actually owe in loans. The end result, will justify the means but it's still I a bigger number than I had estimated.
But what do I know? I'm terrible at math and have a severe case of kidding myself.

I have a headache. It's taken residence behind my eyes, and seems to come to call only when I'm in desperate need of sleep. So instead of sleeping, which would most likely make this stubborn guest leave, I have pain that keeps me from doing so. It always seems to prefer the left side over the right, could it be that i have possibly pulled a muscle in that hemisphere? The harder I think about it, the more the pain flares...so I would say it is definetly a possibility. The revalation that thinking too much gives you pain is not one that I hope would happen in my last semester of college, with 17 credits in tow.
Oh what a world.

Wow

I was just listening to the current and THE PETER GABRIEL was covering Bon Iver. That's insane, my friends and I went to the same highschool ass Justin Vernon and now PETER FLIPPING GABRIEL IS COVERING HIM.
Wow, just wow.
